(Answer) (Category) 1st Class GradeBook Support : (Category) Operating 1st Class GradeBook - How do I ... ? :
I do NOT want the student list sorted after entering new students. I want to control the ordering of the students myself. How can I do this?
There are two ways to get around this problem. If you
just want the ordering to be unsorted for input screen purposes
(ie. just on the screens) then use method 1 described below.
If don't want the students sorted, but would rather control
the ordering of students in both the screens and reports
then use method 2 described below.

Method 1
--------

Enter a three digit number in for the homeroom or student ID
if you are not using those fields. Enter numbers like:

Name Home Room or Student ID
---- -----------------------
Smith, John 010
Doe, Jane 020
Doe, John 030
etc.

Now on each input screen you can choose to sort by Students
for alphabetical order or by Home Room / Student ID for the
order you have specified.

Method 2
--------

Place a three digit number in front of each student name so
that when the program tries to sort alphabetically it will
acually be sorting via the ordering you have specified.

ie.
Student Name
------------
010 Smith, John
020 Smith, Jane
030 Doe, Jane
etc.

Note that with this method the numbers you assign will show up on
reports.
